My name is Viorel Moraru, i was born and raised in Romania. I have a bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in History, both received from Valahia University of Targoviste.
I am not a professional artist, I am just a guy who likes stories. I have worked almost a year to make this story happen, it wasn`t easy, but it was fun.

My art process
I start a drawing by building on something that i imagined, read or seen.
I use drawing poses, facial expressions and photos to help me achieve the scene i want to create.
I am tryng to improve my drawing skills. I want to create my own stile, to be able to create from scratch, to go from a blank page to a complete graphic novel, without using references.
About Codex Dracula:
It was a cold autumn evening, the trees were bare and the wind scattered the fallen leaves on the deserted street. I was only a child when I passed for the first time near the Tower of Vlad Dracula from the City of Targoviste, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. The Tower fascinated me, it looked like a stone giant watching over the city,
My passion for history, myths and horror movies sparked my interest in the controversial character Dracula, also known as the Impaler. Inspired by the two faces of Dracula, the medieval hero and the vampire, I created a story about a vampire-hero, who instead of a black cape wears a red armor, who in the dead of night is not sneaking out from the castle to kidnap babies, but sharpens his sword to defend his kingdom and the European civilization against his greatest threat in the world, Mehmed the Conqueror.
I wrote the script in a couple of weeks, I bought a graphic tablet and I started drawing.
I did my best to put in images the story that I imagined. Since then, almost one year has passed. There were times when I did not know if I will ever finish, but once my work took shape, also my knowledge about how to do a comic book increased, and that encouraged me.
For those who aspire to become authors, artists, for those who want to turn their dreams into reality, I know it sounds corny but it’s true: do not give up, go forward, and step by step you will reach your destination.
